Dunja Mijatovic is outraged with sentence against Rasul Jafarov
The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Press Dunja Mijatovic condemned the verdict of imprisonment a famous human rights activist Rasul Jafarov. "An unjust sentence against Rasul Jafarov increased the number of journalists, and human rights unreasonably kept in prisons of Azerbaijan," reads the statement of Mijatovic, "Azerbaijan systematically and widespread suppressed fundamental human rights and critical voices," she said. "In the near future I intend to visit Baku to address these disturbing questions. Unfortunately, state agencies previously ignored numerous requests that I made during the meetings with them. Despite this, I will continue to search for a constructive dialogue with Azerbaijan," reads the statement. -16D-
