Baku/07.02.22/Turan: The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, welcomed today's release of eight Armenian soldiers.
“The release by Azerbaijan and the transfer of eight detained Armenians to Armenia is another sign of positive development that followed the meeting of the French President with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Aliyev.
The EU supports stability and prosperity in this region,” Michel tweeted.
In turn, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, also tweeted that he welcomed the release of the detained Armenians by Azerbaijan. "This is an important humanitarian gesture following Friday's four-party meeting between Emmanuel Macron, Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev and Charles Michel," Claar said.-16D-
