European Commissioner condemned the arrest of equipment of French journalists in Baku
The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muižnieks, has just expressed on Twitter his concerns about the detention and confiscation of material of two French journalists, Laurent Richard and Emmanuel Bach, by the authorities of Azerbaijan.
He wrote:
Worried by detention & confiscation of material of French journalists in Azerbaijan. Another blow 2 press freedom & human rights in the country.
Recall that the journalists were detained at the Baku airport on departure to Paris. They arrived in Baku for lighting visit of French President Francois Hollande. May 15 special services took their photographic equipment and all the footage, and they themselves were forcibly put on a flight to Paris. -02D-
