European commissioners come to Baku
On May 22-25 Nils Muzhnieks, Commissioner for Human Rights, will visit Baku. Muzhnieks is to discuss with the government of Azerbaijan the situation with human rights, according to diplomatic sources in Strasbourg. The meeting with representatives of civil society is expected.
The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights has a mandate that allows him to raise issues relating to human rights in all 47 member states of the organization.
According to the same sources, in May, Stefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and the new neighborhood, will visit Baku. The theme of the meetings and talks of Fule will be Azerbaijan's fulfillment of its obligations under the democracy within the framework of the "Eastern Partnership".-02В-
