European Court announced decisions on eight complaints from Azerbaijan
Baku/25.02.21/Turan: The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today announced decisions on eight complaints from Azerbaijan. In all cases of the applicants from Azerbaijan, “friendly agreements” were concluded with the government. Among the applicants are attorney Nemat Karimli, journalists Parviz Gashimli, Mustafa Hajibeyli.
Karimli's complaint was related to his suspension from advocacy for a period of 1 year because of his statements to the press on the case of his client. The government agreed to pay him 27, 50 euros in compensation.
Hajibeyli and Hashimli are ready to pay 6 thousand euros each for violation of freedom of movement. Due to the willingness of the authorities to compensate the applicants for moral damage, these and five other cases were excluded from the ECHR consideration.-03В06
