European Court started communication on two groups of complaints from Azerbaijan
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has started communication on two groups of applications from Azerbaijan, said the lawyer Fariz Namazly. The first case involves NGOs refusal of state registration. It is an NGO created by Elchin Mammad (Legal Education of Sumgayit Youth ") and Gunel and Rashid Bashirli (Rural Women Development Center), Mustafa Akhundov and Sevinj Majidova (NGO "Social Initiative and Human Rights"), Shukur Ali and Izzet Bashirli (Regional Centre for Human Rights and Social Studies.)
According to the lawyer, the applicants raise the question of violation of their rights guaranteed by Articles 11 (right of association), 6.1 (right to a fair trial) and 34 (violation of rights).
The second case relates to the violation of the rights to freedom of assembly of six youth activists. On August 12, 2014, they were brought to administrative responsibility for taking part in the flash mob in support of the arrested human rights activist Rasul Jafarov.
ECHR investigating the applicants' rights under Article 10 (freedom of expression), 11 (freedom of assembly), 6.1 (right to a fair trial) and 6.3 (right to use the assistance of counsel of choice) have been violated,
The communication on the application of 4 persons complaining of a violation of property rights was launched last week.
According to the ECHR report, currently in the Strasbourg Court awaiting its consideration 1650 complaints. In 2016, the ECtHR essentially adopted 16 decisions on Azerbaijan and in all of them found a violation of the applicants' rights. Observers say the growth of applications from Azerbaijan. -16D-
