Experts on the Shusha Declaration
Baku/16.06.21/Turan: The expert community of Azerbaijan regarded the signing of the Shusha Declaration by Presidents I. Aliyev and Erdogan as the success of Azerbaijan and the beginning of a new stage in the country's history.
Political analyst, former head of the analytical service under the President of the country, Farhad Mammadov opines that the post-war reality is taking on new outlines, and Azerbaijan and Turkey have officially entered into alliance.
Former Foreign Minister Tofik Zulfugarov sees this event as testimony to the improvement of US-Turkish relations. It is clear that without Turkish participation, it is impossible to strengthen Western influence in the region of the South Caucasus, Afghanistan, Central Asia, and Ukraine.
"Strengthening of Turkey's role as an initiative guide of Western policy, including in the Middle East, with due regard for interests of Israel's long-term security, in fact, has no alternative," he said.
The United States has fully realized that France and other European countries are unable to strengthen positions of Western diplomacy in Syria, Libya and the South Caucasus.
Note that Erdogan arrived in Shusha immediately after the NATO summit where at a press conference, Erdogan was asked whether the topic of the "Armenian Genocide"was discussed with the US President. Erdogan replied that this had not even been remembered.
Azerbaijani Facebook readers are discussing the possibility of uniting Azerbaijan and Turkey in the long term perspective expecting the Shusha Declaration to be the first step towards establishment of Azerbaijani-Turkish confederation. -0-
