Three people were detained, two of them Russian citizens.
One of the detainees is Azerbaijani, Eldar Mamedov, brother of Arif Kerimov’s wife.
The statement said that Mamedov was "kidnapped" in Oguz, and taken to Baku by the employees of the Department to Fight against Drugs in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
Russian citizens, Javid Babayev is Karimov's nephew, and Tariel Sarkarov is the brother of Amil Sarkarov. Javid Babayev was arrested on August 6 in Baku, where he went to visit his parents.
Sarkarov was arrested on August 9 in the village of Gameravan in Gebele region, where he went with his mother to visit his father's grave.
It is significant that detentions have taken place ahead of the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Baku, the statement of the FLNCA reads.
