Following Azerbaijan, early presidential elections will be held in Turkey
Ankara / 18.04.18 / Turan: On June 24, 2018, early presidential and parliamentary elections will be held in Turkey, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday. "During the talks with the head of the Party of the Nationalist Movement of Turkey, Devlet Bahceli, we discussed the proposal to hold early presidential and parliamentary elections," Erdogan said.
According to him, starting from today in Turkey, begins the legal process for preparing for elections.
Erdogan did not explain what caused his decision to hold early elections. According to him, "the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces in Syria and the historically important events in the region, mainly in Syria and Iraq, put Turkey in front of the need to take steps to eliminate political uncertainty."
What is meant by "political uncertainty" from Erdogan's statement is not clear. -02D-
