Foreign Ministers of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey Issue Joint Statement
Tbilisi / 11.12.14 / Turan-BSPRESS: The Foreign Ministers of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey signed a joint statement at the meeting in Kars on December 10.
According to Turkish media, the statement noted that the unresolved conflicts existing in the region disturb the peace and stability and hinder economic development, and therefore need urgent settlement in accordance with the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the states within their internationally recognized borders. That's how the conflicts in Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia and South Ossetia have to be resolved.
They further noted the importance of implementing joint projects in the fields of energy, economy and transport, the completion of construction of new high voltage transmission lines, the pipeline TANAP and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, as well as a new international sea port in Alat (Azerbaijan), a new seaport in Anaklia (Georgia) and a new railway tunnel under the Bosporus.
In conclusion, the statement emphasized the importance of continuing regular tripartite meetings between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. -02D-
