Foreign Ministers of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey meet in Kars
Tbilisi / 08.12.14 / Turan-BSPRESS: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Tamara Beruchashvili take part in a tripartite meeting with colleagues from Azerbaijan and Turkey, which will be held on December 10 in the Turkish city of Kars.
"The ministers will exchange views on the prospects of regional cooperation based on common interests and discuss the decisions taken at previous meetings," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
At the meeting, ministers will take "a detailed assessment of bilateral and regional issues with the aim of forming a single plan in all areas on the basis of common interests, which helps to strengthen regional stability and security," reads the statement.
It will be a third meeting in this format. The first meeting of the foreign ministers of the three countries was held in June 2012 in the Turkish Trabzon, the second - in Azerbaijan, Ganja, in February 2014.
In May this year Tbilisi hosted the first trilateral summit of the presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, and the same year there was a meeting at the level of defense ministers of the three countries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, on December 9, the day before the overall negotiations, bilateral talks of Ministers Tamara Beruchashvili and Mevlut Cavusoglu have been scheduled.
