Former Deputy Minister of Culture can be imprisoned for 10 years
Baku/27.07.21/Turan: On July 27, at the trial in the Baku Serious Crimes Court in the case of the former Deputy Minister of Culture Rafig Bayramov, the prosecutor asked to sentence him to 10 years in prison. His lawyer asked for time to prepare for the final speech, in this connection, the judge appointed the next hearing for August 10.
The Deputy Minister of Culture Rafig Bayramov and Head of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage Zakir Sultanov were detained during a special operation by the State Security Service in May 2020.
Bayramov and Sultanov were charged with abuse of office, misappropriation, and official forgery. Subsequently, a lawsuit against Sultanov was separated into separate proceedings. -16D-
