France declares two Azerbaijani diplomats persona non grata
Baku/27.12.23/Turan: The French Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday the expulsion of two Azerbaijani diplomats from the country.
France notes the decision taken by Azerbaijan to declare two members of the French Embassy in Azerbaijan persona non grata. It categorically rejects the allegations presented by Azerbaijan to justify its decision.
As a reciprocal measure, France has declared two employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in France persona non grata.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to France was today summoned to the Quai d’Orsay to be informed of this, - reads a press release from the Foreign Ministry of France.
Let us recall that the day before Baku announced the expulsion of two employees of the French Embassy, accusing them of violating the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
Previously, Paris deported two Azerbaijani journalists on charges of espionage. -0-
