France will sell air defense systems to Armenia
Baku/23.10.23/Turan: French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu told Le Parisien newspaper that an agreement on military supplies will be signed on Monday at a meeting with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan in Paris.
“Tomorrow we will formalize Armenia’s acquisition of a certain amount of weapons from French manufacturers, in particular, we will sign an agreement that will allow Armenia to ensure the protection of its skies.”
Answering the question whether Armenia can count on French support, the minister said: “It is very important to give Armenia the opportunity to protect its civilian population and ensure the protection of its borders.”
Earlier, the head of the French military department said that he does not believe that Paris will be able to protect the territorial integrity of Armenia through military intervention. At the same time, Lecornu said that France is studying the defense needs of Armenia, reports the Armenian service of Radio Liberty. -0-
