Baku/22.10.22/Turan:  In a span of several hours, Azerbaijan experienced two distinct earthquakes, underscoring the region's seismic activity. The seismic events were closely monitored by the Republican Center of the Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

The first earthquake, registering a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, struck during the night. Aftershocks were reported in the Masalli district, situated 29 kilometers north of the Lenkoran station, at precisely 00:58 local time. The earthquake's epicenter was found at a depth of three kilometers beneath the Earth's surface. Residents reported feeling the tremors with a magnitude of up to 3 points on the seismic intensity scale.

Hours later, in the morning hours, another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 occurred in the Caspian Sea region. This event, which transpired at 06:09 local time, had a notably deeper epicenter, at a depth of 62 kilometers below the seabed. Fortunately, there have been no reports of significant damage or casualties resulting from either of these seismic occurrences.

The most recent significant earthquake in Azerbaijan, with a magnitude of 4, was recorded on August 9 in the Saatli district, approximately 180 kilometers southwest of the capital, Baku. --0--
