George Kent: Date of Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia Not Yet Determined
Baku / 03.05.19 / Turan: The United States, being one of the countries of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, seriously perceives its responsibility in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. This was stated by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent in an interview with a group of journalists in Baku on Thursday.
He expressed satisfaction with the contacts and meetings of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, especially the last meeting in Moscow. The agreement on strengthening confidence-building measures, implementing humanitarian steps to exchange journalists, visits of people to their arrested relatives in both countries, and the creation of such confidence-building measures is very important, he said.
"We look forward to agreeing on the dates and organization of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington. The date is not yet set.
We are interested in achieving a peaceful settlement taking into account international principles developed within the framework of the OSCE," said Kent. -02B-
