Georgia is ready to continue mediating between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Baku/26.06.21/Turan: Georgia is once again ready to mediate between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said in his speech to the country's parliament on June 25.
It should be reminded that in early June, with the mediation of Georgia, Azerbaijan returned 15 Armenian prisoners of war to Armenia while the latter handed over maps of minefields to Azerbaijan.
"I want to reaffirm my full readiness to continue the role of mediator in the process," Garibashvili said.
In so doing, the Georgian Prime Minister pointed out that this proved to an unprecedented event for his country, and he thanked the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan for their trust.
Garibashvili also noted that arrangements on Georgia's mediation role were reached during his visits to Baku and Yerevan in May. -02D-
