GUAM Countries Show Support for Their Resolution at UN General Assembly
GUAM can now put a draft resolution regarding protracted conflicts to a vote at the UN General Assembly and anticipate that it will pass.
This opinion was expressed by the General Secretary of the GUAM, according to Turan’s special correspondent from Dublin.
"I am sure that if the draft resolution "Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development" was put to a vote today, it would have passed. The resolution should be adopted with the support of our key partners, whom we have convinced to support us. This work is carried out by Azerbaijan as a country chairman in GUAM," said Chechalashvili.
He noted that the final text of the resolution was approved on December 1 in the meeting of the Council of National Coordinators (CNC) GUAM. Representatives of the organization in New York have the opportunity to work with the text in order to attract maximum support of the resolution among partners at the UN General Assembly .GUAM includes Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova.—04B—
