Head of "Azerinfo.az website" detained
Baku/12.12.23/Turan: Ibrahim Humbatov (Ibrahim Gubadoglu), head of "Azerinfo.az website", has been detained.
The Interior Ministry's press service reports that Gumbatov was detained on 11 December on the basis of citizens' appeals.
"The head of the website is accused of publishing materials discrediting individuals and extorting money from them for non-replication of kompromat.
A measure of restraint in the form of arrest for four months has been chosen against him," the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
Note that Ibrahimov's lawyer and relatives have not yet commented on the arrest.
