Hero of the April battles and the Second Karabakh War was awarded the rank of lieutenant general
Baku/04.11.22/Turan: Commander of the 2nd Army Corps of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Major General Mais Barkhudarov (1976) was awarded the rank of lieutenant general by decree of the head of state on November 4.
A native of the special forces, Barhudarov was appointed brigade commander and distinguished himself during the April 2016 war. It was his fighters who liberated the Lele Tepe height with minimal losses. Barkhudarov personally led the offensive and led his soldiers into battle on horseback. Then he was awarded the rank of general.
In the Second Karabakh War of 2020, he commanded the forces that liberated the southern regions of Karabakh - Jabrayil, Fizuli and Hadrut. ---02D---
