Icons Taken from Temple to Avoid Their Damage - Representative of Border Police of Georgia
Baku / 07.15.19 / Turan: Deputy Chairman of the Border Police of Georgia Teimuraz Kupatadze explained to journalists the reasons for the removal of icons from the Keshikchidag temple complex.
According to him, the icons were taken from the temple in order to avoid their damage.
"Border guards reported that the icons could have been damaged due to the deterioration of weather conditions, wind and rain. Therefore, they took the icons and handed them over to their Georgian colleagues," said the representative of the Georgian Border Police.
On the eve, a group of aggressive people from the Georgian side attacked and insulted Azerbaijani border guards under the pretext of removing icons from the temple. - 21B06--
