IDI initiates public debate around electoral laws
The Institute of Democratic Initiative (IDI) on the eve of parliamentary elections in 2015 conducted a study on compliance with Azerbaijani legislation with international standards in the field of free, fair and transparent elections, stated press-release sent to Turan. In particular, were studied legislation regulating the issues of the election atmosphere and the election process itself.
Initial results of the study will be discussed by the political parties, civil society and international organizations.
The purpose of public hearings is to draw attention to the problems of the electoral process and promoting their elimination.
IDI was established in 2013. However, the Ministry of Justice has repeatedly denied state registration of the organization. NGOs appeal the actions of the Justice Ministry in court. The issue is under litigation. The head of the IDI is a CEC member Akif Gurbanov, who has been delegated top this organ by “Umid” party. - 06D-

From 19 to 26 July, 24 automatic rifles, 1 machine gun, 9 rifles, 28 grenades, 441 shells, 3118 cartridges of different calibre and other ammunition were found in Khankendi, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported. During the mentioned period, the police found 1 machine gun, 50 grenades, 7 fuses, 3 shells and 320 cartridges of different calibre in Shusha.
