Ilham Aliyev Attends Ramadan Iftar
On the evening of July 24, Sheikh Pashazade hosted Ramadan Iftar (first meal after fast) at his residence. President Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony.
Pashazade expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his participation, calling his attendance evidence of "high respect for Islam" and national-spiritual values. He noted that the stability, development, unity, tolerance and freedom of conscience in Azerbaijan have become possible thanks to Heydar Aliyev, and Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this policy.
Pashazade spoke on behalf of the international community, which according to him "Also welcomed rapid socio-economic development and exemplary tolerance in the country." He further noted Mehriban Aliyeva’s special merits in strengthening national and spiritual values.
In conclusion, Sheikh remembered the Azerbaijani people, and extended best wishes to the people of Azerbaijan and Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Ramadan.
In his speech, Ilham Aliyev said that the Iftar ceremony reflects the unity of society, "the close unity of the state and religion in the country in the name of general ideas."
Azerbaijan respects human values, and is integrated into the international community and contributes to Islamic solidarity.
Aliyev stressed the need to demonstrate on the international level "strong position with respect to certain events causing damage to inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue in a number of countries," but he did not specify what he meant.--0--

On September 11, the Baku Court of Appeal heard the appeal of Hafiz Babali, the economics editor at Turan News Agency, against the newspaper "Iki Sahil." The appeal was filed in response to a May 13 decision by the Khatai District Court, which rejected Babali's lawsuit against the newspaper. The lawsuit was initiated due to unfounded accusations and defamation published by the newspaper in an article dated December 28, 2023. The article claimed that "Hafiz Babali had established contacts with foreign funds and conducted investigations and prepared articles on their behalf."

At a meeting on September 12, the Central Election Commission (CEC) found no violations in the parliamentary elections held on September 1 at seven polling stations in the 33rd Khatai First Electoral District. The complaint was filed by Natig Jafarli, a parliamentary candidate and member of the political committee of the REAL party.
