Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan for Regional Cooperation

Azerbaijan stands for security, stability and cooperation between the countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia. This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev opened today in Baku International Economic Forum: "The strategic dialogue on the future of the South Caucasus and Central Asia" organized by the World Economic Forum.

Aliyev focused on the economic achievements of Azerbaijan. Regarding the implementation of the energy strategy, he noted that the country has managed to diversify its pipeline system, open to the world oil and gas potential of the Caspian Sea.

Aliyev stressed the importance of education in Azerbaijan, calling it the most important factor in the development of the country. According to him, Azerbaijan has set the task to "make “black gold” into human capital".

Azerbaijan also raises the problem of the development of high technology. In this regard, Aliyev noted the launch of the first telecommunications satellite country - Azerspace.

Speaking on the implementation of regional cooperation, he stressed that Azerbaijan will initiate large-scale projects involving the largest possible number of countries. Azerbaijan sees the future in the development of close ties with other countries and regional integration, he said. At the same time, Aliyev stressed that issues of sovereignty of the country "are not subject to any debate". -06D-
