Ilham Aliyev Chairs Meeting of Organizing Committee for Islamic Games
On 23 September Ilham Aliyev chaired the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the IV Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Baku in 2017.
"The Islamic Games will once again demonstrate Azerbaijan as a country with great prestige in the world," he said and recalled that a few days ago he signed a decree on the establishment of the Organizing Committee of the Games, and the appointment of his wife Mehriban Aliyeva as the head of the Committee.
Mehriban Aliyeva headed the organizing committees of Eurovision and the European Games, which were held at a high level, he said, recalling that in 2016 Baku will also receive the race Formula-1 and the World Chess Olympiad.
In her speech, Mehriban Aliyeva expressed gratitude to her husband for the trust, expressing confidence that the Islamic Solidarity Games will be held at a high level and will justify the confidence of the Azerbaijani people.
"The Islamic Solidarity Games will enter the history of independent Azerbaijan as another victory," she promised. -06D--

Adalyat Verdiyev, the head of the civil defense staff at the public legal entity Center for Public Health and Reform under the Ministry of Health, and a military expert, has been arrested.
