Ilham Aliyev congratulates Pope on Christmas Day
Baku/20.12.23/Turan: Head of state Ilham Aliyev has sent a message to Pope Francis on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas.
"I am proud to note that today Azerbaijan is a place where ethnic and religious diversity is protected as a national treasure, where equal conditions have been created for all religions, and it is one of the addresses of multiculturalism in the world," he said.
"Our Christian citizens in Azerbaijan, together with representatives of other faiths, actively participate in all spheres of social and political life of our country and make a worthy contribution to the comprehensive development of our state."
"I express my gratitude to you for your great personal contribution to the development of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the Holy See and the expansion of our constructive dialogue, as well as for the great importance you always attach to Azerbaijan's traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance".
"I take this opportunity to sincerely congratulate you on your birthday and on the coming New Year, 2024, and to wish you good health, happiness and success in your supreme mission for the triumph of humanist ideals," the message said. -0-
