Ilham Aliyev Invited to Inauguration of Margvelashvily - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia
Tbilisi/07.11.13/Turan-BS PRESS: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia dismissed reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was not invited to the inauguration of the newly elected head of the Georgian state.
Yesterday a number of media reports citing the press service of the President of Azerbaijan said that Azerbaijan has not yet received an invitation for Aliyev and other officials to the ceremony of inauguration of George Margvelashvily.
"Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is invited to the inauguration. The invitation to him has been already sent," said the press service of the Georgian Foreign Ministry on Thursday, November 7.
Earlier, Novruz Mammadov, Deputy Chief of Azerbaijan's Presidential Staff, on the question if a representative of Azerbaijan would participate in the inauguration of the President of Georgia, gave a surprising answer that in Azerbaijan there is no tradition of invitation and attendance at the inauguration ceremony. -02D-
