Being on an official visit to Sri Lanka, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, May 6, was received by President Mahinda Rajapaksa of this country.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported, the meeting discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the economic, energy, tourism and investment fields.
They also exchanged views on cooperation in the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
The President of Sri Lanka invited the head of Azerbaijan to visit his country on an official visit. -16D-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.
