President Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the construction of the airport complex in Baku

Yesterday the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev toured the new airport complex, under construction at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The total area of ​​the new complex of 65,000 square meters. It will be installed 24 elevators, 30 escalators, and 37 X-ray machines. There will be carried all the necessary measures to ensure the comfort of passengers and workers in the new complex.

For check-in there will be installed 41 bars and for passport control - 52 bars. In addition, there will operate a cafe, a restaurant and other service facilities. The purpose of the project is to further enhance the level of service for passengers and freight, and lead safety in line with international standards. Meeting modern standards, the airport complex could serve 3 million passengers a year. After the launch of a new four-floor terminal building, which will be built in the shape of a triangle, the international flights will be operated.

Through the current terminal, which was built in 1999, local flights will be provided.

The new complex will use all the scientific and technical innovations from international aviation. On the territory of the terminal building there will be installed a telescopic gangway, capable of accommodating 13 aircraft simultaneously. 08D
