Ilham Aliyev met with Bidzina Ivanishvili
On Wednesday morning, President Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili, here on official business, held a meeting in Baku.
During the meeting, they discussed regional issues and prospects for expansion and strengthening of Azerbaijani-Georgian relations. As reported on Ilham Aliyev’s website.
During Ivanishvili’s visit, he will also have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Artur Rasizadeh.
The most important negotiation point is the fate of the Baku - Tbilisi - Akhalkalaki - Kars project. Last week, Ivanishvili said Georgia was not very happy with the project.
"Maybe I'll have to explain gently to our friendly country, that at some point, it may not be useful for us, and regulation is needed," he said.
A day later, at a press conference, Ivanishvili said he did not intend to discuss the project in Baku, explaining the question was considered by experts, and that was enough.
