Ilham Aliyev received the head of the OSCE PA Margaret Sederfelt
Baku/23.05.23/Turan: On Tuesday, the head of State Ilham Aliyev and Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Margaret Söderfelt discussed the issues of cooperation in restoring peace in the South Caucasus region.
The sides noted the great importance of the conference held in Baku by the Milli Majlis and the OSCE PA on the role of parliaments in ensuring security and stability through a "green" economy and sustainable development, the press-service of the president.
Margaret Söderfelt was interested in the progress of the peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan and announced plans to visit the liberated Zangilan region.
Aliyev reported on the progress of negotiations and recent meetings with Armenian representatives in Washington and Brussels, on upcoming meetings and the future peace treaty. He also informed about the prospects of opening transport communications in the region.
Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace treaty based on the five principles presented earlier, implying recognition of mutual sovereignty and territorial integrity. In addition, Baku put forward the idea of uniting the countries of the South Caucasus into a single model of economic development. ---0---
