Ilham Aliyev receives Vice-President of European Commission
On Wednesday President Ilham Aliyev received the Vice-President of European Commission's for e-Agenda, Neelie Kroes, who arrived in Baku to attend the 7th International Forum on Internet Governance.
She noted that the EU attaches great importance to the free development of the electronic media and the Internet, the e-government project.
Ilham Aliyev told about the country's Internet freedom and media freedom in Azerbaijan. He spoke about the steps taken to implement the broadband Internet in Azerbaijan.
The sides also discussed bilateral cooperation in the sphere of communications and other issues, the press service of the president. -02D-

Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.
