Azerbaijan cooperates with the SCO countries The East–West and North–South corridors are an important area of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the SCO countries. Cooperation on the East–West and North–South transport corridors is an important area of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,  Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev  stated today in his speech at the SCO Plus meeting in Astana. The geographical location and significant investments in transport infrastructure have allowed Azerbaijan to become one of the transport and logistics hubs of Eurasia, Aliyev stressed.

Activist Puya Pourhemmeti, who fled from Iran to Azerbaijan, was invited to the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan in connection with allegations of illegal actions against him by Azerbaijani security forces. In October 2023, Pourhemmeti fled to Azerbaijan from Iran, fearing criminal prosecution in that country for supporting the movement to abolish the compulsory wearing of the hijab by women.

On July 3, the Baku Court of Appeal dismissed a complaint against the extension of the arrest period by employees of the “Kanal-13” Internet television Shamo Eminov, his lawyer Elchin Sadigov told Turan. According to him, Eminov participated in the trial and protested the court's decision.

The “Musavat” party will participate in the early elections to the Milli Majlis scheduled for September 1. This decision was made today at the session of the Mejlis of the party. The electoral headquarters of the party has been established, headed by Chairman of the Mejlis Arif Hajili.
