Ilham Aliyev Thanks Lukashenko for Lapshin`s Extradition
President Ilham Aliyev called the head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. During the conversation the parties spoke about the successful development of the Belarusian-Azerbaijani bilateral relations and recalled with satisfaction Lukashenko's official visit to Azerbaijan at the end of last year, and noted the successful implementation of the agreements achieved during the visit.
The heads of state also exchanged views on prospects of bilateral relations and talked about further meetings at the presidential level.
Aliyev expressed gratitude to the Belarusian side and personally to President Alexander Lukashenko for demonstrating fair position and decisive step in connection with the extradition of Alexander Lapshin, against whom a criminal case has been filed under several articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic, to Azerbaijan. He described this step as the observance of the rule of law and international conventions, and the manifestation of the Azerbaijan-Belarus friendship and strategic partnership.
Lukashenko thanked Aliyev for the appreciation, the presidential press service reported. -06D--
