Assessment of several events of February 7, reasons for the AZN rise in value, the flow of capital from the country, and the price skyrocketing are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan refers to three events of February 7 - the blogger Lapshin’s extradition to Azerbaijan, the National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov’s birthday, and the award of the National Hero title to the soldier Chingiz Gurbanov. The author also notes the role of President Ilham Aliyev in awarding the honorary title to the two Azerbaijani servicemen.
The website Azadliq.info writes about how the population falls in the dollar trap of banks and the last rise in the AZN value.
Since yesterday, the citizens began to sell dollars, partly in the “black” market. Apparently, the authorities are using the situation to buy the foreign exchange available at the population at low prices.
Echo has published an article about the outflow of capital from Azerbaijan. Commercial banks have experienced peak outflow. The volume of deposits of the population decreased by more than 2 billion manats. Investors export capital abroad. The export of capital continues.
Novoye Vremya writes about the rise in prices, which was admitted by the Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov yesterday. The government is taking measures to prevent the rapid rise in prices and there is no reason to sound the alarm, Ahmedov said.
The main task of the government is to restrain further price hike so that it does not affect the people’s living standards. A comprehensive program is prepared in this direction, Ahmedov said vaguely. –0--
