Ilham Aliyev thanks Trump for supporting energy projects
Baku/26.02.20/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev received on Wednesday Energy Counselor Advisor to the US Secretary of State, Kurt Donelly.
Pointing to the successful implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project, Aliyev noted that the TANAP pipeline (part of the SCG) has already reached Europe. This will allow even more to export gas from fields in the Caspian to Europe, Aliyev said.
“I know that President Trump is personally involved in this process. His personal involvement was very helpful in overcoming the difficulties we encountered. Now there are no obstacles. I am convinced that our effective cooperation will continue,” Aliyev said.
In turn, Donnelly noted the importance of the upcoming sixth meeting of the Advisory Council on South Caucasus at the ministerial level in Baku, in which he will participate.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of alternative energy sources in Azerbaijan. -16D-
