Prezident İlham Əliyev.
Ilham Aliyev: USA can help normalise Armenian-Azerbaijani relations
Baku/20.05.21/Turan: "US can help normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. During my meeting with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group I said that I was waiting for new proposals from them. So I think this organization is now looking for new proposals. New proposals can be presented to normalize the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan so that the people of both countries can live together".
This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev during a video discussion on "South Caucasus: prospects for regional development and cooperation", organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre.
The head of state noted that over all these years Azerbaijan has tried to restore its territorial integrity, liberate occupied lands and return over a million forced migrants. It has done all this in accordance with the norms and principles of international law.
"Armenian society must adapt to this new reality. It was a triumph of justice. Unfortunately, today revanchist tendencies and Azerbaijaniophobia prevail in Armenian society. We have to look to the future. We have already suggested, I have repeatedly said that we want to sign a peace agreement with Armenia. But all this requires joint efforts," said the President. -03-
