Indigenous people of Azerbaijan called to vote for candidate of opposition
Members of the National Council of Democratic Forces and Movement "El" Eldaniz Guliyev and Mehdibey Safarov appealed to small nations and national minorities with a call to vote in the presidential election on October 9 for the candidate of the National Council Jamil Gasanly.
"We call for a vote for Gasanly, who said that he will perform his every promise and word at the cost of his own life," the statement says.
Today, the indigenous people of Azerbaijan are facing a responsible choice: "Either you will turn from a spectator to the decider of your own fate or you will accept lawlessness and injustice."
Each of us, choosing between good and evil, must express a principled stand and finally get rid of the syndromes of pessimism and indifference and build a decent life, the statement says.
"We no longer have to believe false promises of officials and their false policy and must build a state where the whole spectrum of human rights - social, religious, national, self-expression and other fundamental principles will be respected. Mental heritage of every people - language, religion, culture, traditions, history, and other features should be protected by the state at a high level and developed," the document says.
All these aspirations are to be implemented by the Parliament elected by the people and the President and his team through free, fair and democratic elections, it is noted in the appeal. -0 –
