Investigation into the case of the former prosecutor general is coming to an end
Baku/31.05.21/Turan: The investigation into the case of former ambassador Eldar Hasanov is coming to end, its results will be published, a statement from the country's Prosecutor General's Office.
In turn, Hasanov's lawyer Javad Javadov said that the decision of the European Court of Human Rights of May 7 on the need for hospitalization and treatment of the former ambassador and prosecutor general of Azerbaijan is not being implemented.
The attempts of the Azerbaijani authorities to challenge the decision of the ECHR failed, said the lawyer, and added that Eldar Hasanov’s health remains grave.
The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office noted that at the request of the lawyer, a sub-medical examination was appointed and, on the basis of its conclusion, the investigative actions are continuing.
Eldar Hasanov was detained on August 13, 2020 by employees of the State Security Service, and the next day the court arrested him on charges of abuse and misappropriation of budget funds.
In 2001-2020Eldar Hasanov served as ambassador of Azerbaijan to Romania, and then to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia. In 1995-2000. he served as the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan.-03D-
