Iran: In Event of U.S. Attack on Syria Conflict to Encompass Entire Region
Iran's Foreign Ministry announced that a U.S. attack on Syria would pull the entire region into the conflict, the agency Bloomberg.
"We would like to warn the West against the use of military force in Syria," Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araghchi.
According to him, the consequences for the region will be really serious, and due to this the complication will be not only limited to Syria, covering the entire region.
Araghchi statement was made one day after U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry reported on "incontrovertible" evidence that the Syrian government used chemical weapons near Damascus on August 21.
Some opposition groups in Syria claim that the attack killed more than 1,300 people. This statement has not been confirmed.
Araghchi criticized the use of chemical weapons "by anyone under any circumstances," and accused the U.S. and its allies to use this incident as a pretext to strike at Syria.
Ironically, on the issue of intervention in Syria, Washington is actively supported by Ankara.
Erdogan's government is seeking Assad's resignation, not because it is fighting for democracy, but because Assad's departure would open the way for Islamists to power in Syria.
