Kamaleddin Heydarov for strengthening cooperation with Iran
Emergencies Minister Kamaleddin Heydarov visited Iran on March 15 on an official visit.
According to the MOE, the Azerbaijani Minister was received by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
During the visit, he held talks with the Minister of Industry and Trade of Iran, Muhamedrza Neymatzadeh, the Chairman of the Organization for the Development of Mining Industry, Mehdi Kerbasian, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ismail Nechchar and other officials.
The talks focused on the prospects for further cooperation and the development of existing relations between the two countries.
In turn, the Iranian news agency Irna reported that the negotiations with Heydarov were conducted on growing trade between the two countries and simplification of customs restrictions.
In particular, the possibility of enhancing trade in free trade zones and industrial zones was discussed.
Consultations were held on removing the "restrictions at the border" and in particular, the simplification of visa regime as a factor strengthening economic cooperation.
Heydarov called to ensure that goods are exported from Azerbaijan to Iran without any customs duties. In particular, he mentioned some difficulties in the export of Azerbaijani goods to Iraq through the Iranian ports.
According to the same source, during the meeting with the governor of the Khorasan province, Heydarov called for joint Iranian-Azerbaijani investments in various fields.
Referring to his visit to the city of Mashhad, Heydarov said that this trip would strengthen cultural ties between the two countries. In response, the head of the Khorasan province said that every year 13,000 pilgrims from Azerbaijan visit Mashhad.
