Kazakhstan will increase oil transportation through Azerbaijan and supports the Trans-Caspian route
Baku/10.04.23/Turan: The current visit of the head of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan will bring relations between the two countries to a new level, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym Jomart Tokayev stated at a joint briefing with Ilham Aliyev at the end of the ceremony of signing bilateral documents in Astana.
"We discussed the development of relations in the trade and economic, transport and logistics, and energy spheres. We have also reached a number of agreements to deepen cultural and humanitarian ties. I am sure that the results of this visit will bring relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to a new level," he said.
Full disclosure of the potential of the Trans-Caspian transport route is of great importance. The talk is about improving logistics services, creating unified transport operators, modernizing technical and tariff conditions, eliminating administrative barriers and forming a closed logistics cycle. "We agreed that it is important to involve third countries in this route," Tokayev said.
This year, the first shipment of Kazakh oil was sent through Azerbaijan. The next step is to increase the volume of supplies and give them a long–term, stable character, Tokayev said and expressed gratitude to Ilham Aliyev for supporting these initiatives.
He further spoke about plans to create large joint ventures in the industrial, textile, agro-industrial, construction, and agricultural sectors. "Active work is underway to lay a fiber-optic communication line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea," Tokayev added.
"Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan cooperate fruitfully within the framework of various multilateral structures, adhere to similar positions on many topical international and regional issues. In this vein, I would like to note that Kazakhstan traditionally supports the diplomatic settlement of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and also welcomes the efforts of the parties to conclude a peace treaty as soon as possible," Tokayev said.
In turn, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted "a balanced position on the most important global issues." "We are very grateful for the solidarity that Kazakhstan has demonstrated and is demonstrating towards us," Ilham Aliyev said. ---0---
