Lavrov and Kerry call to  stop  hostilities in Karabakh

On April 4 at the American initiative took place  a telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and US State Secretary John Kerry, according to Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministers expressed serious concern over the escalation of conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, confirming call for an immediate cessation of hostilities. It was agreed to intensify the efforts of Russia, the USA and France as co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to assist in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Lavrov and Kerry condemned the attempts of some "external players" to spur confrontation in Karabakh.

They also discussed ways to enhance international support for the implementation of the Minsk agreements to resolve the Ukrainian crisis and some other topical issues of  the joint agenda.—0--
