Lavrov-Nalbandian Meeting Discusses Karabakh
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the Russian Federation Edward Nalbandian and Sergey Lavrov discussed the issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement on January 19. As the press service of the Foreign Ministry said, the meeting took place in Moscow.
"Issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were discussed, including the implementation of agreements reached during the summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg,” the statement said.
In addition, it is reported that the Ministers discussed topical issues of development of the Armenian-Russian allied cooperation, focusing on the implementation of agreements reached between the leaders of Russia and Armenia and the arrangements preparing the upcoming talks between the heads of the two governments in Moscow on January 24.
Earlier, Lavrov, addressing a press conference on the results of 2016, said the agreement on the introduction of a mechanism for investigating incidents and increasing the number of observers in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict area is still not implemented. He also noted that the Karabakh settlement is not an internal affair of Azerbaijan. -02D-
