Leader of "Musavat" nominated for president
The Majlis of the party Musavat nominated its 56-year-old leader Isa Gambar today for President of Azerbaijan in the upcoming October 16 presidential election.
Gambar's candidacy was endorsed by the head of the party’s management Arif Hajili. This proposal was unanimously approved and accepted with applause. Gambar was confident of his victory in the elections.
In his view, the video scandal of the last 4 months finally exposed the regime of Azerbaijan, demonstrating its corrupt and criminal nature.
Earlier, the Public Chamber, which unites the leading opposition forces, long discussed the issue of nominating a single candidate from the opposition, but the lengthy negotiations failed. -06D-
