Leaders of Small Parties Want to Participate in Presidential Elections
Baku / 07.02.18 / Turan: The leaders of the Citizens and Development Party, Ali Aliyev, and Liberal-Democratic Party, Fuad Aliyev, want to participate in the presidential elections on April 11. The appropriate decisions were adopted at the meetings of the leadership of these parties on Monday and Wednesday, the press services of the said parties said.
The above-mentioned parties do not have any significant weight in the political life of the country, and its leaders are little known.
As it is expected, in a short time several more medium and small parties will announce their desire to participate in the presidential race. -06D-

In a case that is disappointing but not surprising, the agreement between the government of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for hosting the climate conference COP29, is replete with significant shortcomings and ambiguities on the protections for participants’ rights. Human Rights Watch has obtained a copy of this host country agreement, signed in August 2024, which has yet to be made public.
