Baku Indignant with Statement of Speaker of Swiss Parliament
Baku / 07.02.18 / Turan: "Dominique De Buman, using the official status of the Speaker of the National Council of Switzerland, made statements during his visit to Yerevan, contrary to the policy of neutrality of Switzerland. This harms the negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Hikmet Hajiyev, said.
He called De Bouman's statements in Yerevan a manifestation of segregation and support for racism.
Hajiyev recalled that in 2012 Buman, having violated the laws of Azerbaijan and its sovereignty, committed an illegal visit to the territories occupied by Armenia.
"By his visit and current statements, Buman justifies the ethnic cleansings committed by the Armenian armed forces against a million Azerbaijani citizens, and the occupation of Azerbaijani lands," he said.
Recall that the head of the National Council of Switzerland, Dominique De Buman, speaking on February 6 in the Armenian parliament said that he sees the settlement of the Karabakh conflict on the basis of the UN conventions and the right of nations to self-determination.
"The people of Nagorno-Karabakh have the right to determine their own destiny, like other peoples. The settlement of the problem is possible only through negotiations, on the basis of the UN conventions and the right to self-determination," he said. -02D-
