Lukashenko calls for increased trade with Azerbaijan
Belarus and Azerbaijan should make every effort to increase the volume of bilateral trade, announced October 6, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
"We need to make Azerbaijan a support base for the production of many goods and sell the joint product in the territory of the region," BELTA quoted Lukashenko.
According to Lukashenko, the Belarusian side attaches great importance to ensuring development of production of the most popular Belarusian equipment in Azerbaijan. It is also important because Azerbaijani companies always financially support such projects, he said.
Lukashenko stressed that cooperation between the two countries is developing in all areas and the two countries have great prospects for cooperation.
In turn, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that the assessment of the bilateral relations by the Azerbaijani side is identical with the Belarusian. "We also aim at to increase turnover, because from the political viewpoint our views, according to international subjects, coincide almost completely," he said.
During the official visit to Belarus, Mammadyarov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Vladimir Makey.
During the meeting they discussed issues included in the agenda of the meeting of Azerbaijan-Belarus intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which will be held in November.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting in Minsk, they also discussed the issues of mutual investments and long-term economic projects. It was noted that the two countries have great potential for cooperation in the fields of high technology, agriculture, and industry. -06D-
