Macron congratulated Aliyev 5 days in arrears
Baku/03.06.21/Turan: On June 2, French President Emmanuel Macron sent congratulations to Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Republic Day on May 28. The message stressed the strengthening of bilateral relations and the great importance of the telephone conversation between the two leaders on January 14.
"It is necessary to continue efforts to create conditions for a lasting peace 6 months after the end of the deadly fighting and the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020. This implies the peaceful delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the possibility of reuniting prisoners of war with their loved ones. Also, it is important to maintain the diversity of the whole region, therefore I recommend to facilitate the mission organization as recommended by UNESCO, "the message says.
Macron further expressed his desire to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two countries. He assured that France would get on with all its obligations as a co-chairman of the Minsk Group to establish a high-level dialogue aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. -02D-
