Mammadyarov receivs Iranian Minister of Communications
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received today the Minister of Communications & Information Technologies of Iran Mahmoud Vaez. During the meeting it was noted the successful development of cooperation in accordance with certain presidents of the two countries' strategic line.
Vaez expressed condolences with victims of the military and the civilian population during the last escalation of the conflict in Karabakh. He also noted that due to the measures implemented within the framework of the intergovernmental commission, bilateral cooperation is developing in the sphere of economy, transport, oil and gas industry, agriculture, tourism, pharmaceuticals, information technology and others.
Vaez also noted the importance of expanding cooperation of security agencies of the country in the fight against terrorism, radicalism and regional challenges.
Mammadyarov congratulated Vaez in connection with the awarding him the Order of the President of Azerbaijan "Friendship." He also praised Iran's fair position on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
Conflict resolution and sustainable peace are possible only under the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
Mammadyarov also noted the importance of laying the foundation the railway bridge over the River Araz on 20 April for the development of transport corridor North-South.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on prospects of development relations in the field of energy, transport, oil transportation, trade, banking, etc.-06D-
